program summary
SMECO’s Residential Energy Efficiency Program helps members lower energy costs through rebates, recycling incentives, and demand response programs. Homeowners can receive cash rebates for upgrading to energy-efficient equipment like heat pump water heaters and smart thermostats, as well as incentives for recycling old refrigerators or freezers. Participants can also enroll in programs such as SmartTemp Year-Round and Switch2Earn to earn ongoing bill credits and bonuses for managing energy use during peak demand periods, making it easier to save money while conserving energy.
