Texas-New Mexico Power Company - Residential and Hard-to-Reach Standard Offer Programs

Texas-New Mexico Power Co residential energy efficiency rebate program

program summary

Residential & Hard-to-Reach Programs

The primary objective of these programs is to achieve cost-effective reductions in peak demand through residential retrofits. Additional objectives of the programs include:

•encourage private sector delivery of energy efficiency products and services,

•achieve customer energy and cost savings,

•significantly reduce barriers to participation by streamlining program procedures, and

•encourage participation by a wide range of service providers.

Participating Project Sponsors market their services to customers and reach an agreement on which measures to be installed, the terms of the sale, price, and any other issues. After installation of agreed upon measures, a customer may be selected as part of a random sample of sites to be inspected or surveyed by the Texas Evaluation, Measurement and Verification contractor. Incentives are available to Project Sponsor’s through this ratepayer funded program for the reduction in peak demand (kilowatts (kW)) and energy consumption (kilowatt-hours (kWh)). The HTR SOP provides higher incentives to projects for residential customers whose household income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines.
